Hamonica riff 4 out 5 in - 5 out 4 out Guitar riff E A G E pattern
E
I went to the agency
‘cause I didn’t have a job
if I lived another week,
a bank I’d have to rob
The man told me, "Son,
I’ll make you a deal.
You can be a ‘Temporary’
so you won’t have to steal!"

Chorus: A
I’ve got the blues.
The Temporary Blues.
(B-Flat) From the top of my hat
(A)to the worn-out soles of my shoes.

I started at a job
but it won’t last long.
sometimes I wonder
what I’m doing wrong.
Can’t wait ‘til the day
that I get rich
I hope I don’t have to dig a temporary ditch!

Chorus

Well the job was fine
but it’s time to go
The agent said, "Son,
things are kind of slow.
I can get you a gig,
but at a lower rate."
Sometimes, the Temporary Game I hate!

Chorus

Someday I’ll be "permanent"
and it won’t be long.
You mark my words.
I’m not always wrong.
The telephone is ringing
I hope it’s the Lotto Man
Because if it isn’t - then I don’t have a plan!

Chorus
